Personal Statement

I am a "go-getter," I take every opportunity I have to make a positive impact whether in track, academics, friendships or with family; I take each chance and put my full self into it. I have learned how important determination, confidence, and being strong not only physically, but also mentally is since the age of 5. When I was 5 I began competing competitively in gymnastics. I learned that in order to succeed in anything you do you need to be extremely determined. I learned to compete through pain and compete under an enormous amount of pressure. I stopped gymnastics when I was a level 6 gymnast at the age of 12, but the traits and lessons I learned are part of the person I am today. I know how important every decision I make is. From day one my goal has been to compete on the collegiate level and this dream is a constant motivation out on the track. I treasure each jump I take and am constantly striving to improve myself. I started high jump my freshman year with no knowledge of how it works, but I knew I had the capability to be very successful as long as I made a commitment to give it my all. Ever since I began high jump my will to become better has not diminished but it has only increased. I want to be the best I can be, and will not be satisfied with anything less. I am not only determined on the track but also in my studies. I know how to manage my time in order to keep up with my grades and my track practices. I have the drive and focus to succeed academically, as well as, athletically. A big part of my life other than track and school is my family and friends. When I was 10 years old I experienced a tragic and life changing moment; my father passed away from cancer. This event shaped me into the individual I am today; I became more mature and learned to adapt to many situations. I am glad to be apart of two families’; my blood related family and my Santa Margarita Track Team. I love being able to have special bonds with my teammates who also share the same desire and aspirations to succeed; it is a remarkable feeling. I am a very driven, disciplined, adaptable, committed and focused person. I will give my all in everything that I do.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
