My collegiate goals and aspirations are to continue to improve my knowledge in all areas of life to become a well-balanced person.
My curiosity has been piqued by my honors and AP Chemistry classes that I have taken at Westlake HS. I enjoy seeing how chemistry has helped to produce so many items which are now a part of our everyday lives. Learning about the properties of the elements has been fascinating and I especially enjoy our class lab work. This has led me to have an interest in obtaining a degree in Chemistry. Please note, I do have other interests, so I am still considering other majors.
I will be a great contributor to my team by continually improving myself and more importantly, helping my teammates reach their goals. Being a leader on a team means leading by example when I am at practice or at a meet. Champions are created at practice; meet results are a direct reflection of whether or not you practiced like a champion. The combination of my work ethic, discipline and focus at practice is why I have achieved my results and will be why I help my team reach its goals.
The question was asked “how I am different from others?”. I really do not compare myself to others. I focus on mastering my skills, not on what others are doing. If I focus on improving every aspect of being a sprinter, I will excel. My academic and track results are a direct reflection of my character and work ethic. Honesty, discipline, mind-fullness and hard-work are all part of my character.
