Personal Statement
I have started running track when I entered high school as a freshman and loved it ever since I stepped onto the track field. In my first year running track, I have went to state with my sprint medley relay team, finishing fourth in the state. This experience led me on to running harder and stronger, touching base with my coaches in the weight room and out of practice. I come in early on Saturday mornings to lift weights and run on my own time. I have ran varsity track at Overland High School for three years and I have recently moved schools for my senior year to Cherokee Trail High School. This is also my second season running club track and I am very eager in improving my time for all of my events. I am excited to push myself in this new school and work my very hardest this year. My goal by the end of my senior year is to push myself in sprinting, so that I can break a school record in the 400 meter dash. I am a very competitive and hard working student athlete who balances my time in school and sports since I'm also involved with two other varsity sports. Throughout my years of being an athlete, I have learned a lot about being a leader and a team player. I believe in working hard to get where I need to be as a student athlete and further on in becoming successful in women's track. I am going to continue my leadership with my fellow teammates and hopefully commit to track and field through college. With this, I'm hoping that I can find a future in track as an athlete.
