Personal Statement
My name Chantae Steele. I am 5 foot 5 inches, weigh 120 pounds and hope to run competetively at the college level. I have been blessed to be apart of an outstanding track and field school program at The Classical Academy, with its tough elevation of over 6,000 ft., and amazing coaching. Our school has 4 consecutive track and field state championships; I have competed and been a high scorer in three since freshman year. I have one individual school record at my high school, it was for the 400m (55.66), and have been apart of state winning 4x200's (1:40.28); 4x400's (3:52.10); and SMR relay (1:45.46). I have recieved a letter for track and cross country since freshman year; and freshman and junior year in soccer. Since the beginning of high school, I have been apart of a team that values family and supports one another, no matter the differences. I find that no matter what the other is going through, or their capabilities, we treat all equally and respect them and build them up. I would like to compete for a team that values each other and am searching for the same sense of family within my future college home. While searching for a college, I am interested in schools in which I can develop both as a student and an athlete. I am looking for a college that will appreciate my talent and will allow me to grow.
