Personal Statement
As we get older, our dreams and goals for our lives get more realistic. When I was younger I had aspirations of becoming a lawyer like my mother. The older I got, the less appealing an attorney became. I started becoming more and more interested in science. I went from wanting to be an entomologist, then a dietitian, to a criminal forensic scientist, and now to a veterinarian. I don’t just like animals, I love the feeling I get when I am able to help them.
I also have major aspirations to run track in college. I already enjoy running now and the prospect of continuing running beyond high school at the collegiate level is exciting to me. I want to make noticeable improvements each year in high school and college. Hard work ethic is the example I live by whether it's during practice or a meet. I know that in order to reach your individual and team goals, it takes an enormous amount of effort and hard work. Talent alone is not enough. Aside from track, I enjoy volunteering and doing community service work as well. I wish to continue serving the community throughout high school, college and my adult years.
