Personal Statement
My overall aspiration for college is to gain the most enriching, exciting and fullfiling learning experience imaginable. My specific collegiate goals are to drop my times significantly, make major contribution to my team's success and most importantly, maintain a superb GPA as part of obtaining a great education. I am willing to work as hard as I possibly can to achieve these goals while encouraging my teammates and classmates to perform their best as well. I am a hard-worker with a happy spirit who always puts forth my best effort. I train and compete with a must-succeed atttitude that carries over to my teammates. Perhaps this is why I have had great success in open events and relays throughout all my youth club track years and the first two years of high school. I have never once complained about about a workout-even the most difficult and I won't ever do that out of respect for my coach and desire to always improve. I realize that hard work makes you better. I intend to bring my tremendous work ethic and positive attititude to a college that will strengthen both my academics and my athletics. I am a proven winner who is passionate about track & field and have been running since the age of 5.
My desire is to continue developing and accomplishing goals individually. At the same time, I want be a key part of, not just a winning program, but a "family" that works together collectively with the shared goal and vision of attaining great success through the process of teambuilding. I am a firm believer that developing trust and chemistry are essential in achieving team goals and outcomes in the form of conference and national championships. Building a team with great talent is a important but a close-knit group that works together certainly helps foster an environment of success. When it's all said and done, I want my four years in college to be the best time of my life-socially, athletically, academically, and culturally. My college years should be a truly life-shaping experience.
