Bianca Prieto '15 Recruiting Profile

Sports have always played a major role in my family. Being the middle sister to two brothers, I grew up in a competitive atmosphere where soccer was the dominant sport of interest. It wasn't until the eighth grade, when I decided to run on the school track team, that I realized the enjoyment I found in running had developed into a passion. Since then I have continued to develop as an athlete and my passion has led me to strive to reach a collegiate level of performance.

Standing at 5'2", weighing 115 pounds, I am not one to shy away from a challenge. Freshman year I was introduced to the 100 meter hurdles, which proved to be a test my abilities as well as my level of determination to overcome the unknown. To achieve these goals, I joined a club team Sophmore year to gain more individual training as well as compete in USATF and AAU. It wasn't until Junior year, when my coach suggested that I triple jump, that I found a previously unknown ability. With many hours of hard work and coaching, I have been able to reach a higher level of performance than I knew was possible. Reaching 32'11" in my first year as well as a 16' PR in long jump was only the beginning. With the help of an equally determined coach, I plan to not only break my school record but also to reach my highest goal of jumping in college.

I know that nothing less than all I've got is what it takes to accomplish my goals. This is the same mindset I set towards my academics. I have worked hard to keep my grades through high school. I will be studying to major in Psychology.
