Striving to be the best student-athlete I can . Continuing working to be one of the premiere track athletes Nationally and in the State of Georgia. Working with my coaches and trainers to drop my times along with gaining distance on all my jumps. Hard worker, respectful and dedicated to be the best I can be in school and my community. Looking to find a college home for my academic and athletic abilities. Currently, I am ranked Number 1 in Fulton County (2015 100h County Champion) and 7th in the state in the 100 hurdlers and looking to take that number 1 spot overall by the end of the season. National Elite Standard.
I am a Sprint Hurdler that graduates in May 2015. I am 5'5" track athlete who attends Westlake High school in Atlanta, Georgia.I was at Chattahoochee High school for grades 9-11. I have been running track since I was 7 years old and Love the sport! I have run the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles since Middle school. I broke the 100m hurdle record and relay team record in middle school (The Lovett School). I also broke the 300m hurdle record at Chattahoochee High School. I was Sprint MVP in 2013 and started off on the Varsity team in my Freshman year.
The club team I have run with since 9years old is The Titans, led by Coach Tony Carpenter. On the Club team I experienced and was successful in 200m, 400m 100m sprints and relay teams as a younger athlete (through middle school). I then focused on hurdles in High School, along with the 100m and 400m relays and the Long jump. I was always asked to be on the relay teams due to my speed and my ability to handle the curves well (1st and 3rd leg). I also have run the 55m sprints and 60m hurdles and the 400m as indoor events. Over the years I have gone to the Junior Olympics Over 6 times (Events: 400m relay, 100m relay, 100m hurdles, 400m, long jump, 200m sprint. I was awarded 3 ESPN Rise medals in 2011 in Orlando.
In 10th grade, I qualified for state in 6AAAAAA for 300 hurdles and sectionally for Long jump. In 2014 I got hamstring injury while playing volleyball (region champs) and was out for most of the track season. I worked hard at rehab and training. I ran at the end of the season and still qualified for the Sectionals before you make it to state. Other runners were a bit baffled that I came out of nowhere and still got one of the top 4 spots. I opted not to run the next round so that I could strengthen my craft of running and train properly without injury. needed to I am training extremely well now and hitting new goals that I set for myself. They are quite different then the stats listed. I'm on track to hit the times needed to be successful. I stay positive and have been seen as an experienced leader on prior track team (new High school this semester). I love being part of a strong and determined team, I expect great things from myself in my college career.
I am a A/B average student and am taking AP classes this year. I am taking the ACT 10/25/14 and the SAT 11/8/14. I am co-captain of Westlake Varsity Volleyball team, Varsity track, a member of DECA, A member of the National Society of High School Scholars, a trained viola player (Orchestra in school and a more advanced one outside of school), a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
