Personal Statement
I am a Senior, andI recently placed 6th at the 2011 Idaho State Cross Country Championships helping my team win its third strait state title. My next races are the NXN Northwest Regionals on November 12th and Footlocker West on December 3rd.
Ever since I was in 7th grade, running has been my passion. I love competing in track and cross country and have always set high goals for myself, such as running competitively at the collegiate level. Running has made me a better person and taught me a lot about life. I am looking for a very serious, competitive program that will help me excel and that I can also contribute to. Also, I am looking for a university or college with a great biological science program, and a fun and warm student-life atmosphere. My sophomore year I was a part of a cross country team that won the state title, and then went on to place 2nd at NXN Northwest Championships earning our team an automatic berth to compete at the Nike Cross Nationals. Also, in track and field, I took on the challenge of running the 800, 1600, and 3200 all at the state meet so our track team could go on to win a state title. From these experiences of being on a top tear team, I learned that it is about more than just you; it is about the team and working hard for your teammates. I am very involved in the community both lifeguarding and coaching cross country for the YMCA, and I am very involved in my school and community service. I feel I can offer a team leadership, motivation, and excellence. Also, I am a great all around runner and can compete at a high level in numerous events.
