Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Mary Edozie and I'm currently a senior at Plainfield Central high school. I've been running since I was 10 years old. It's always been my dream to run in college and experience what it's like to be a collegiate athlete. I've been running on my varsity high school team since my freshman year. I went from being just another average runner to making a name for my self my junior year.
I think I would be a great candidate for your team because I know what it means to be a team leader. I know what it takes to become the "best". I know what hardwork means. Track and field is not the easiest sport to participate in but it helps create good character within a person. Track and field is that kind of sport that brings people together. Yes we know that each individual is running for themselves, but at the end of the day, each individual comes together and creates a bond that can't be broken.
I feel as if I know how to bring leadership and dedication to the team. I've always been known as a welcoming spirit by my coaches and teammates, so I feel as if I might bring that exciting enegery to the team I will run with in college like I did in high school. Whatever college that picks me will be lucky to have me on thier track and field team.
