Personal Statement

Running has always been a fascinating thing for me. I didn't actually join a running program until the last two weeks of my seventh grade cross country season. By then I was hooked. The next year I came back and we went to state. I started high school, unsure of what I was going to get there, but by the end of the cross country season I knew that running was something that I wanted to have part of my life for as long as I could run.

In the beginning I struggled with staying positive, but my teammates transformed me into a better athlete and I am now the one who cheers them up at the end of a tough race, or in the middle of a hard workout. I am looking for a team that will help me become not only a better athlete, but a better person. I am also looking to compete at the highest level possible in essentially every aspect of my life.

I also look to push myself off the track. I take every chance to further myself in my academics by choosing the most challenging classes and excelling in them. I would like to be part of a team that values academics as much as their athletics.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
