Anna Smith '17 Recruiting Profile

During my whole life, I have faced challenges which have taught me to be the person I am today. My goal in life is to achieve no matter how hard that goal is. I have been thrown a lot of curve balls throughout my lifetime and I know that I will be able to overcome those challenges. I am a determined, hard working, and compassionate person which means I will strive in order to achieve perfection. I have been incredibly blessed my whole life with all kinds of friends and family who supports my goals. Because of them, I have excelled in school and will continue to excel for years to come.

Ever since I was a little kid, I have always wanted to be involved in some kind of sport. I have always been the type of person to Do my best in whatever it is I'm doing. I'm the type of person who does not like to give up and likes to be challenged. When a challenge is put in front of me I'm not afraid to strive and be the best. Although it may come hard, I know I can turn it around for the better. I enjoy competition because it makes me go out and do my best.

My grandfather was like my dad and supporting me through everything. He taught me how to play soccer when I was just a little girl. He would always take me to the park and be there for me to get better and better. after his loss back in 2013 I was devastated and I didn't know what I was going to do. However, track was always there for me to get my mind off of the bad things. I never really knew what discuss was, but as I continued to learn more about it, I became more in love with the sport.

As I continue to grow, graduate high school, and start a new chapter in my life, I can’t see track not being there. It has been with me through the last 6 years of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. I may not be the best, but I'm willing to strive to be the best in any way I can. It may not come easy, but I know that I am a determined person and am willing to work my butt off. At times I may be lazy, but not when it comes to something I truly believe in. I truly believe that track is my calling and I am determined, If given the opportunity, to work each and every day to fulfill my goals.
