Personal Statement
Running is my passion. Some people look at their sport as work, as for me running is a lifestyle. The summer before my sophomore year I decided to devote all my attention to cross country and indoor and outdoor track. My future goal is to run both track and cross country in college.
As a sophomore, I was inducted into the National Honors Society. I am also a member of SADD, FCA and was chosen as a Peer Mentor for my junior and senior year.
I workout at the gym lifting and doing cardio six out of the seven days a week. This summer I started out running thirty five miles a week and have gradually worked my way up to fifty five miles. I train very hard both in season and off season. In addition to training I eat a very nutritious diet full of protein.
I volunteer teaching Sunday school each week to younger children as well as helping out during Vacation Bible School. This past fall I volunteered at an FCA Wounded Warrior Softball Fundraiser. I also volunteer my time in local softball and cross country camps in teaching younger children.
