Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Keira Mills. I am 17 years old and a senior in high school. I am a good candidate because I know how to be a team leader, team player, and I know how to accept constructive criticism. Things that make me different from other recruits are that I think outside of the box, I go above and beyond in everything I do, and I train on my own time even after practicing with my coach. I have been running track since the 6th grade with Varsity. I also ran cross-country for 2 years to get stronger and gain endurance. The events I currently run are the 100m dash, 200m dash, 4x1, 4x2, 4x4, and I long jump. Although I am a sprinter, I have ran the 1600m and have come in first place. I made it to state in the 1600m in 7th grade but did not run it. I was back up for the 100m dash and my coach let me run that instead of the 1600m and I came in 3rd. My sophomore year I made it to state in the 100m dash and the 4x4. I am anchor for all relays and I placed us in 3rd. My junior year I made it to state in all four of my main events which are long jump, 100m dash, 200m dash, and 4x4. In the 100m I placed 3rd, the 200m I placed 2nd, and the 4x4 I placed us 2nd. My collegiate goals are to acquire several scholarships, to let all my work, whether it is academic or sports related to show that I gave 110% in everything.
