Teirral Thompson '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'5" senior hurdler from Lake Charles, LA and will graduate from Washington-Marion Magnet HS in the 2011 class. I have 4yrs of varsity level experience (including this season) and was the 2010 Louisiana 4A-State Runner-Up in the 100m and 300m hurdles. I also run AAU/USA summer track and have place 1st-3rd place in my events. I am aware that I am starting the recruiting process late, but I really am eager to compete at the college level. I prefer to stay in the southern region because I am familiar with the culture and I also have family in this region, but am open to other considerations. The type of school that I am looking forward to attending is a mid-size college/university, not too big or too small, and one that is interested in developing me as a student/athlete (personal time). Education has to be the first priority coupled with athletics; favorably I would like the school to have a degree program designed for my major (biomedical research or similar), but a general program would be ok. I am looking for a team that will help me improve to develop to my fullest potential, so that I can immediately find my role and position on the team. Organization is very important to me, but I don't mind joining a team in their rebuilding phase. I will be filing for FAFSA; financial assistance/scholarship offers will play a major roll in where I ultimately attend college.
