Running on a varsity level, and going to state as a freshman, and experiencing running against high-level runners was one of the peeks of my track career. However, I felt I grew the most as a runner my sophomore year, when I wasn't eligible to run because, of the LHSAA rules. Although, not being able to run for a whole year wasn't fun, it wasn't a bad thing either. It gave me the chance to grow into a better runner, and teammate. By pushing myself, preparing myself, and so much more for the next season.
Also, helping my mom get her citizenship, and helping her build a business from the ground up, is also a big peek in my track career. One thing, I have learned from running track is, it teaches me to sacrifice, and toughness. School assignments, track practice, helping my mom study for her citizenship, or helping her with her business, was the repeating cycle of my sophomore year. Running is a never ending process for me. A joy at that, it sees me at my worst and at my best. I run for my savior. I run for the ones that can't run for themselves. I run for my family & friends, and most importantly, I run to beat the person I was yesterday. Am looking for a program, that will help me to continue to become a better runner each day, and to push my talent out of my comfort zone. I believe I not only have the talent to run on a college team, but I have guts, leadership skills, and a good work ethic.
