Personal Statement
After several years of jumping around 15'8 in long jump, I started changing everything from my approach to my takeoff, along with much more lifting and body weight exercises outside of practice. This indoor season(my first season of indoor) I jumped 18'2.25" at my conference championship, and went on to place 4th at New Englands. My improvements are the products of hard work and willingness to take coaching and change the techniques I had been using for years. I have also competed well in the state of Maine in events ranging from the 55 to the 800, as well as running cross country. I have also recently picked up the 300m hurdles, and I've previously competed in high jump as well. I have been involved in track since I was 8 years old and can't imagine my life without it and am already so excited to go to the next level of track and field and compete in college!
