Personal Statement

My name is Anya Begue, and I have been a dedicated athlete on both the indoor and outdoor Bromfield track teams since seventh grade. I am currently a junior and have a 3.9-4.0 unweighted GPA. I am very passionate about track -- over the years I have really developed a love for both the sport and the comradery of the team. I pride myself on being a supportive, enthusiastic teammate who is always ready to learn and improve. This past year, my sophomore year, I got 2nd at both Leagues and Districts in the 100m HH,  and 5th in the MIAA central/west D2 State Championships, with a PR of 16.3.  I would love to run track in college; the sport has meant so much to me in high school. It has given me confidence in myself as an athlete, leader and team player, and this has made a huge difference in my life.

Beyond track, I have a love for politics, public speaking, and leadership. I am an avid member of Youth and Government and Model UN, both of which allow me to travel to state and national conferences and debate important issues. This year, I was selected for a statewide leadership position - assistant Attorney General - for Youth and Government. I serve as a student council representative for my class and am secretary of Bromfield's student government. I am also an officer in Bromfield's Tri-M music honors society, serve as student representative on the Harvard, MA Energy Advisory Committee, and was elected as my school’s representative to the Statewide Student Government.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
