Personal Statement
I hope to make a positive role model in my school, society, and the career that I pursue. My goal is to do the best that I can in academics and athletics as I develop into an adult. I thrive on new challenges and finding different ways to cope with difficult situations. I realize that some challenges may be more difficult than others, for example, running a 5:40 mile would be much easier for me than achieving A in an AP level math course. The reality is, people have different strengths and weaknesses and I accept both, yet choose to fight through the weakness and never give up to continue to develop into the best person I can be. Running has inspired me to become a more focused, determined, and courageous student-athlete and I plan to push myself to my maximum ability and accept any challenge I may face in the future.
I never give-up, and I accept feedback as a gift to continue on my journey to be the best runner possible. This will make me an ideal candidate for your team because my can do attitude is infectious. I inspire my teammates and work not only on my personal development but for the team win as well. My favorite events are the 400m, 800m, and 1000m, but I will run wherever I am needed for the team. I look forward to speaking with you about your college and how I can help your team win.
