Personal Statement
I started my athletic career playing soccer on a team with my twin sister. If I had been a better soccer player, I might never have had the opportunity to run track. While initially upsetting, I am now grateful for this because even though I am only going into my junior year of High School, running track has already had a profound influence on me.
Track has helped me realize that I am a stronger person than I initially thought, and that when I set my mind to something and work hard, I can achieve my goals. It has taught me the importance of dedication and perseverance. I get the most satisfaction challenging myself to improve, but love being part of a team. In track I have made new friendships that I will have for the rest of my life, and the bond I’ve developed with my teammates motivates me to push myself in every race I run with them.
My primary goal is to find the right college that helps me further my education in order to pursue a career in psychology and criminal justice, ideally within the FBI. I would love the opportunity to continue running in college and contribute to the success of my team by challenging myself to improve.
