I've been competing almost all of my life. From playing soccer and lacrosse when I was 5-9 and then competitively swimming from when I was 7-14 and now running crossing country and track, I've been through all the ups and downs and the peaks and valleys in competing. When I started running cross country and track I reached this tall peak; I was successful my freshman and sophomore years. I was 6th in the 1600 during the track state championships my freshman year of outdoor track, broke 19 minutes in cross country my sophomore year, then placed 5th in the 1600 at states during indoor track of my sophomore year. But then during outdoor track my sophomore year I got injured. I was out for the entire season which brought me all the way down to the bottom of the valley, my peak was over. My junior year of cross country I was named captain, but i struggled competitively. I wasn't as strong as the previous years. Even though my times and places weren't nearly as good as my freshman and sophomore years, I think I learned the most about competing, being able to push myself to the limits during workouts and in races. I learned the most about who I was and who I wanted to be when racing.
