Personal Statement
I'm a junior at Gull Lake High School. The 2013 season was the first season I ran cross country in high school. My freshman year, I was on the JV soccer team. I have done club soccer since I was 5, and now I am playing Premier 1 with my club team from Kingdom U-16 98. Soccer is a passion of mine, but running is my priority. I was very happy with myself once I joined, and immediately was driven to the best at running I could be. I had a successful time in middle school cross country, but took freshman year off to adjust to the big world of high school. Cross Country is something I love, and I am so excited to see what the future will bring for me. I love to push myself everyday and see the improvements week after week. Practices with my team are fun, but racing takes it to another level of excitement. I'm very passionate about running and training, and even in the off season, I continue to work with a personal trainer and play indoor soccer with my high school team and club team.
My dream is to run in college, and get a great education to help me find a career. In the classroom, I love to challenge myself and take classes to help me know what I want to study. My goal throughout high school is to maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher. Another goal of mine is to get All-District, All-Conference, and All-Region just like I did this year, and I would love to be an All-State Athlete. I would love for my team and I to get Academic All-State each year, just like we did this year. I would love to get my time down to a 19:30 or lower, which I think is very achievable. Running is something I would really love to excel in, and everyday I continue to keep my mind focused and driven.
