Kierra Crews '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'-8" hurdler/sprinter from Cousino High School in Warren, MI and will graduate June 2011, I am a third year varsity track participant and as a Sophomore I qualified for the 2009 Michigan - DI State Track and Field Championships in the 100M hurdles, I was a First Team selection on the 2009 Macomb All County Track & Field Team along with earning Conference & County All Academic Team honors. This 2010 indoor season I qualified for the MITS Indoor State Track and Field Championships in the 60M hurdles along with being the 2010 Macomb County Indoor Champion in the 60M hurdles. My goals are to better these accomplishments, and be an All State Track & Field First Team Selection in 2010 and 2011. Ideally, I would like to attend a large urban university that has a great "college town" environment where I can obtain an undergraduate degree that will allow me to pursue my desire to attend med-school and obtain a future medical degree. I am seeking a university that has developed a good student/ athlete balance that works for the classroom and track. Even through I have lived in the Midwest all my life I would like very much to attend college in a warmer climate area. I am open to exploring schools on either the Southeast or West Coast also in the Southwest; I have family living in Southern California. However I will consider any school that my family and I feel has a good academic reputation and would allow me the opportunity to pursue my athletic endeavors while getting my degree. I would hopefully join a program where I could make a contribution right away. I have a great work ethic, a winning attitude and I am willing to participate where necessary to help the Team/Program.
