As a sophomore in high school I have this weird passion for running. Most kids think running as a punishment, but when I think of running I think of competition, adrenaline rush and pushing myself as hard as I can to get first place. I first found interest in running track in third grade. As I was little all I did was wait till I got into 7th grade to run track. As the years went by I found out I was actually good at it and that I loved it. Since I started track in 7th grade I've never lost a conference 1600 meter race, also my freshman year I have never lost a 800 meter run conference race either. In my freshman year I qualified for states in all 4 of my events, the 1600 meter run, 800 meter open, 4x4 relay and also 4x8 relay. I was so nervous but so excited to see how well I would do. I placed 12th in the mile, 9th in the 800 open, 9th in 4x8 relay and 17th in the 4x4 relay.
I have 3 major goals for this coming track season. Goal number 1 is to break the mile record at my school which is set as 5:21 and I'm only off by 7 seconds. Goal number 2 for this coming track season is also to break the 800 meter run record which is 2:18 and I'm 9 seconds away from it. My third goal for the season is to metal at states in the 1600 meter run and also the 800 meter run. With getting a taste of states last year I am willing to push myself and my team to do our best for when it come to states this year so we will thrive. An academic goal I have is to have a GPA of 4.0 at the end of the year and try to have all A's. When I think of myself I think of a hard worker and high ethnic skills. I started working when I was in 7th grade. I have been taught hard work will reward you in the end. I always want to help people to be a better person whether it is helping them smile or pushing them at practice or in school. Last track season one of my personal goals was to break 5:30 and at the end of the season my personal record was 5:29. With my mind focus and hard work and training I was able to reach my goal. My final goal in life is to inspire all the younger girls and boys to try out track. When I come home from college I would love to see how well the track team is doing.
