I joined track late in the 8th grade but found I had talent in jumping. I was a level 9 USA gymnast before I made the transition which helped my strength and explosiveness. I began to really enjoy track and decided to continue the next year. I continued but didn't train too seriously until the 10th grade and incorporated a little off season training. I made State in the long jump, triple jump and 100 mt dash. I won the triple jump and placed 2nd in the long jump. This year (junior year) my coaches wanted me to hurdle so I began hurdling and made it to state in the triple jump, long jump and the 100 mt hurdles. I also will be competing in the New Balance Outdoor National Championship and National Junior Olympics. I love track and look forward to my future in this sport. I train hard and lead a healthy lifestyle.
I look forward to going to college and immersing myself into the culture both academically and athletically. I don't know what I will study but I am sure I will decide with time. I have been diagnosed with ADD and at times it takes a little longer to process information but I have not found it to be a limiting factor and know that I will succeed in college.
