Personal Statement
My name is Olivia Schroeder. I go to Prior Lake High School and I am a key player on the team. I lead our team in practices and i give a good morale to the team. I don't care what grade other players are in and I'll help if they need it.
My freshman year during spring break i went to my first varsity indoor meet and got first place, over a senior athlete. Into the outdoor season i was almost strictly an alternate, but i continued to practice my hardest for i knew my time would come to show what i really could do. This came in 2014 when a senior athlete got hurt. I took her spot and i helped the relay 4X400 team win in many meets, including getting first in conference, second in sections, and 5th at the MSHSL state meet.
2013 season i ended with a PR at 63.17 sec and ended my 2014 season with a personal PR of 60.32 sec, but hit around a 59 second split in the 4X400 relay at state. I plan to continue to drop and show everyone that I will continue to grow as a runner.
I am not strictly an athlete, but also put great pride into my academics. I am ranked 129 out of 620 and have a GPA of 3.728. I challenge myself with AP classes and also juggle a job. I have great time management skills and i am able to get school work done, workout, and go to a job.
I want to go into Mechanical Engineering for a major, i love creating things and i believe i have something that can change the world with my leadership skills. I have a great imagination and i like figuring out problems to make something better. I also have a very relaxed mind that helps out in every aspect of my life. I keep a level head through school and i don't let people's thoughts get to my head. On the field i can tune everything out and just focus on the job at hand. Lastly in my everyday life at my job and with my friends and family. I would love to be apart of a team that has great moral values and can take a loss, but i would really like to be apart of a college team that has heart and focuses on both athletics and academics.
