I have always loved to run. Since I was little, I have loved nothing better than to wake up and run for miles out on a beautiful wooded trail by my house. I began running competitively for the first time as a freshman in high-school, and I made it to state in cross-country and track. I also placed 8th in state as a freshman in crosscountry and 2nd at state in the 2 mile. During sophmore year, I stayed out of crosscountry due to a hip injury, but I healed fully and ran track this past spring, placing 2nd in the 2 mile and 3rd in the mile at track state. This year, I transferred from the private school to the public school in my town. Unfortunately, due to MSHSL regulations, I will not be able to compete in varsity athletics for one year. While I was very disappointed to hear this, I am determined to keep running and working hard, and have just wrapped up my cross-country JV season, with my times (ranging from high 14s to low 15s) easily ranking me in the top five at single A state this year (although I will not be able to participate). I will continue to run 5Ks and other races throughout this year, and hope to participate in USATF competitions as well to prepare me for my senior track/ crosscountry seasons.
Academically, I am a 4.0 student, and I will take my ACT this spring. I am interested in a physical therapy or a secondary education career. I have a passion for Mathmatics, English, and Spanish, and would teach highschool or college classes in those subject areas.
