Personal Statement
Hi! I’m Laura Sherwood. I have been running Cross Country and Track & Field since I was in 7th grade at Thomas Jefferson Middle School. I became interested and well known to sports by my mother’s boyfriend who also did Cross Country and Track & Field in high school. When I started my first week of running, I knew that a very bright future lay ahead for me. While running, I have come in touch with not only my friends and family, but myself as well; learning new things about me and how my body can handle the pressure of being a runner. In high school, I wish to attain a 3.0, 3.5, or a 4.0 GPA. I also wish to attain a score of 24 or higher in the ACT. In college, I wish to attain my Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. I have come a very long way from what I was then to now. I had to train extra hard to achieve certain goals and times that I wish to obtain in Cross Country and Track & Field. I am a very hard working student who wants to achieve great things in my life and work really hard to achieve those goals that I see ahead of me. I will not stop working on my running, high school, and future college work until my goals have been completed. I will be attending Maryville University Fall 2018.
