Courtney Coppinger '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Courtney Coppinger and I am currently a Senior at St. Teresa's Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. I have a competitive drive to run both track and cross country, and running is a large part of my life. It has always been my dream to play a sport in college because i believe it will keep me focused both athletically and academically. I exemplify my strong leadership through running, and i want to play at the highest level of competition possible in college. My freshman year, I was awarded the honorable mention All-Metro award, and my sophomore and junior year i was awarded first team All-Metro from the Kansas City Cross Country Coaches Association. During my cross country season in 2010, i placed 23rd at state, receiving the All-State honors. Junior year, I placed 16th in the Missouri Class 4 (largest class) State meet, receiving All-State honors again. In Track, I achieved an All-State Honor my freshman and sophomore year in the 4x800. This past track season, I qualified for state in three events (4x8,4x4, and 800). I successfully earned an All-State honor in all three events, placing first in the 4x800, 6th in the open 800, and 7th in the 4x400. I look forward to improving my running talents by training hard in the off seasons. I feel like I am a big team player, and would love to have a chance to run in college. This cross country season, I have ran personal bests of 18:55 for a 5k and 15:25 for a 4k.
