Track and Field is a sport that I just recently became passionate about.
After winning the 800M my sophomore year at the 2015 Class A State Meet, I started to take track more seriously. I trained in the off-season and improved immensely my junior year- cutting seconds off my times and winning the 800, 300MH, 400M, and assisting my team to win the 4X400M at the 2016 Class A State Meet.
This fall, I competed in my first high school cross-country season and won the Class A State Cross-Country Meet.
I strive to succeed both in sports and in the classroom and take pride in maintaining a high GPA and competing in other sports. I am looking for a college that will challenge me academically as well as athletically.
I believe that Track and Field is a sport like none other in that you have the opportunity to decide how good you want to be; the potential for improvement is endless. I have made it a goal of mine to compete in Track and Field, and potentially Cross Country, at a collegiate level.
