Personal Statement
I decided to pursue college athletics because I enjoy having a schedule, discipline, and routines. I love track and field, and collegiate sports have always been exciting to me. I was gifted with a six foot tall, athletic frame and I want to use it in sports to the best of my ability. It is a a goal of mine to compete on the collegiate level, because my mom played in college and my dad was a division 1 scholarship baseball player for Coastal Carolina University. I can see how their experiences helped them in refining time management and team work. I want to work hard and grow that experience to enrich my life.
My focus for college will be prioritized in two ways. My first priority is to find the right college or university that I can thrive and grow educationally, and become better prepared for what life opportunities come to me. Creating a successful future, I believe, will stem from the hard work and sportsmanship I will carry over from athletics.. I have always felt that knowledge and solid preparation will take you where you want to go in life, but I also understand I will always need to be prepared for flexibility along the way. My second priority is to obtain an athletic scholarship, so I can continue pursuing my athletic career, and become a positive representative for a successful collegiate, athletic community. I want to continue building my character, strengthening my resilience, and accomplishing my goals. I was recently awarded a 2020 core values award from my high school that I am so proud of. The right school, curriculum, and athletic program will allow me to grow as a dedicated and determined college student. I began my track and field jumping career the spring season of my sophomore year 2019, and have been working hard to improve my skills to reach that of a college level athlete. I train hard, learn fast and always practice a positive mindset. I am very hard working, I am very coach-able, and dedicated to anything asked of me to help the success of the team.
My goals for college track and field are to obtain a scholarship , and compete successfully. My field of study will be criminology/biology and then forensic pathology with, perhaps pre-med, and post grad schooling. In closing I like to make lofty goals for myself and always try to take aim for the highest possible successes, because I know I will work hard to get there.
