Personal Statement
Hello my name is Charissa Copeland, what makes me such a great asset to the team is that I am a diligent worker in everything that I do. From other recruits I have a strong sense of character, I have a sense of pride, integrity and duty, maybe I get that from my aspiration to be a Psychologist for the FBI. At a young age I was always instilled discipline and was introduced to sports since I was 4 years old. Upon entering Middle School my parents gave me a choice to either do sports through the seasons or to join a school club, a choice that they gave my older siblings as well. This was so we could stay on the right path. Although this was a choice I had to make I decided to take on both of the options given, the after school clubs and sports. Something I never regretted, I quickly fell in love with my decision of Track and Field. Starting from 6th grade I knew that this was a sport that I wanted to continue, discus is something that I wanted to pursue and to continue to improve in. Through Middle School on to High School I have been a 3 sport all year round student- athlete. Student-athlete is not a term a take lightly, I'm not just hard-working and competitive on the field but also in the classroom. I try to balance enough time that I can focus on my athletics as well as my academic priorities.
