My name is Kayla Beasley and I am a young student athlete from Durham, North Carolina. I attend Hillside High School where I am currently ranked #2 in the class of 2018 with a 5.07 weighted GPA and a 3.98 unweighted GPA. I am a very active student at my high school. I am the Student Government Vice President, a member of National Honor Society and Science Honor Society, member of Future Business Leaders of America, and I participate in many clubs including Literary Magazine club, community service organizations and many more. This year I had the privilege of being North Carolina's 4A Indoor and Outdoor State Champion in the Shot Put. My current PRs are 44-8 in Shot Put, 122-8 in Hammer Throw, 42-7 in Weight Throw, 127-5 in the discus. My main struggle is that I have never had a high school throws coach, so there is no one to work with me on an daily basis and I have never done weight lifting.
I want to be a double major in Business Administration and Sport Management with a minor in Creative writing. I also would like to be a part of a family oriented track program.
