I am a 5'8" runner from Durham, NC and will graduate in the 2012 class. The events that I participate in include the 300 hurdles, 400 hurdles, 800, and 4x4 relay. Gaining a spot on Riverside High School's varsity track team for three years and continuously growing as an athlete since then, I feel like I have great potential and many strengths that can positively contribute to your school's track program. I would like to attend a school in the southern region, but my options are open. Ideally, I would like a diverse environment with a strong academic platform. Financial assistance is important to my family and I and will be a factor in the college selection process. Hearing the words "you'll go far in your track career" or "you have the potential to be great" is something I don't take lightly. I train hard on the track and give it my all in every race. The best example I can give is making it to the 2010 Junior Olympics in the 800 which is an event that I had only ran in three times prior to the meet. I pushed myself each day in practice and in turn got a rewarding experience that many did not have the chance to compete in. I think I can offer great assets to your team based on my attitude, coachability, and hard work.
