Personal Statement
Running has been a passion of mine since my seventh grade year. I can remember the first day of cross country practice like it was yesterday. I thought to myself, "someone has to be crazy to participate in a sport like this." Little did I know that running would become a major part of my life. I go to a small school with roughly less than 400 students, and this past year was the first time I have actually had a full cross country team to run with. One of the things I am most excited about for college cross country and track is that I will have other runners that contain the same dedication as I have for running. I am one of the most determined and hardworking people that you will ever meet. I will never give anything under %110 percent, and I will always stay committed.
I have always been very competitive in sports, but even more importantly I am competitive in academics. I currently have over a 4.0 GPA and I will continue to raise my GPA as much as I can. In school I have always been taught that academics come first, and I still stand to that rule to this day. I come to school eager to learn each day, and I will continue to do that in college. I hope to major in exercise science or athletic training.
God is my biggest inspiration for everything that I do, and I am not ashamed to admit that. In college one of my goals is to express my views and encourage my teammates and others in any way that I can.
