Personal Statement
I've been running since 7th grade and have enjoyed and excelled beyond my expectations. I want to go to college for sports medicine or sports therapy and continue my running career. I feel like this is a great field for me since I love running. While I enjoy cross country and though I have excelled in it. I think I would prefer track over cross country. Though I do not limit myself to just one sport. In cross country my sophomore year I achieved 4th in my county and was chosen 1 of 5 in the county for all county all-star. I also made it to regionals again this year. Though I didn't make it out of regionals I improved my time and placing from the year before. In track as a freshman I made it to regionals for my 4x800 relay team. I've been told that my finish in any race I run is one of the best and I pride myself in that. As of this year I received 3rd in the county meet and as a team we won the county meet. I made it to regionals again this year, though I didn't make it out i faced a knee injury that made it tough to run but I pushed through it. In November I had knee surgery to repair my meniscus. Before knee surgery I ran all season with a torn meniscus so my times didn't drop as I hoped, though I did run in the 21 time range all season. In track my Junior year i dropped 11 seconds on my 800 time. I went from running a 2:34 to a 2:23. My time in the 800 moved me out of districts and forward to regionals. though i did not move out of regionals, i placed 8th over all with a time of 2:25.
