Personal Statement
Track and Field is not just a hobby for me. My track journey has shaped who I am today. After being on a team that didn't support my interests in the sport, I have learned how to persevere and take risks. My junior year I transferred to another high school. Some would consider this dangerous, but not only did this change offer amazing academic opportunities, it has allowed me to grow significantly as an athlete. I am more confident and mentally tough. I have embraced being a leader, supporting my team, even as the new kid on the block. What sets me apart? I'm not afraid of hard-work, I'm all in. It's 100% at all times, no complaints. That's what's required to compete at the next level, which is my goal. I want to run at the collegiate level because I enjoy competition. With a difficult beginning, I feel I'm just getting started and want to continue this journey reaching my full potential eventually competing as an Olympic hopeful.
