As I enter into my freshman year of college, I hope to be prepared to study pediatric medicine, possibly a more specific field of study such as pediatric neurology. I plan to attend a Division I University and be a member of their track and field program. Not only do I believe I have what it takes academically but also as an athlete. I know the rewards of representing myself in the community and representing my school as an athlete.
I have failed before at an important track meet. But rather than sulking with frustration and blame, I chose to be more aware of my own abilities. I have become a better athlete as I know it takes more than talent to succeed.
What I can say about my character is that I recognize it as being true to myself. I basically have a normal life as a teen but I have the desire to make decisions that will help me, not impress others. I believe I will reach my goals. My time and experience at a University will get me closer to my goals.
