Personal Statement
Winning the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:26 my sophomore year at the 2014 Oklahoma State Championship was a big eye opener for me. It proved to me that hard work, dedication, and sacrifice pays off. I continued to work hard this past year. I am blessed to say that I defended my title this year at the 2015 Oklahoma State Championship in the 3200 meter run winning by 9 seconds and then winning the 1600 meter run the next day. I have broken the school record for the 3200 meter run my freshman year at the 2013 State Championship, and continued to break my own record 3 more times. I am fortunate to have the coaches and teachers that I have as well as very supportive parents.
I am looking for a program that fits me well academically and athletically. Academics are just as important to me as my athletics. I believe that I have the talent, work ethic and character to compete with a college team. I know what it means to be a leader, and I know that I am capable of doing great things.
I would also like to add that although my longest race is 2 miles, I train for a 5k.
