Personal Statement
I'm looking for a college where I can get the best experience in class and on the track although my major is not yet decided. I'm not opposed to moving away from home. Having played 4 sports in high school it has became easier to balance my school work and the time I put into my athletics. Being a 3 sport athlete as a freshman I made mistakes and didn't focus on academics which lowered my GPA. As a senior I better understand the need for the balance in the amount of time I put into both and to keep my priorities straight.
Also, from freshman year to senior year I have grown a lot as a student, an athlete, and as a leader. Winning state in the hurdles my sophomore and junior year was a great accomplishment after barely placing 10th my freshman year at state. Winning the long jump the same two years was a bonus. I desire to win, gain experience, and grow a relationship with my teammates and coaches in college. I value my coaches and players input and love to listen and learn from them. Honesty, reliability, and hard-working are a few traits I possess. I lead by example and if I can, I will volunteer myself to help someone else learn or better understand something. I'm excited to compete at the college level and ready to be the best I can be.
