Personal Statement
So far my highlight of my first two years of high school has been when my 4x1 relay team beat Downingtown East’s school record, which had been held for ten years, only to beat it again one week later. Even though I have only been a part of my school track team for three years, track is definitely something I aspire to continue throughout my college career. I quickly learned that you have to use your passion and dedication for your sport to become the best competitor after I began competing in gymnastics at age six until the age of twelve. After gymnastics I became a cheerleader. When I entered my current high school as a Freshman I was chosen as the only Freshman to be on the Varsity Cheerleading Competition team. In my first year of high school, I was picked to be on the Varsity 4x100 meter relay as well as jumping in long jump and running the 100 meter dash. Also, after this track season, I was received an honorable mention for the All Area track team 2016. I am open to trying new things on my track and field team, but jumping and sprinting is what I am passionate for.
I intend for my years in college to be a growth period for myself. I moved to Pennsylvania from England when I was young and have intended to be the second member of my family to ever attend college, after my sister. I have worked exceptionally hard through my high school years to be able to plan to get a degree in fashion business, where one day work with what inspires me. I am a member of the National Honor Society and I am involved in Future Business Leaders of America. I also am involved with Special Olympics and Best Buddies in my community. A great program for me would be one that is athletically challenging as well as academically. Education is a very important aspect in my life and always will be. My leadership, work- ethic, and dedication will bring a positive impact on your program.
