Personal Statement
I am an athlete who is prepared to take my track and field career to the next level. I have discovered a love for the sport over the last decade that has grown to be unstoppable, and my hunger to compete simply cannot be satisfied. For the majority of my life I have dreamed of one day competing in a college track and field program where both sports and academics are extremely important.
I believe that there is no better student than a Student Athlete because they learn to master both the mind and the body together. My parents have been very supportive of my athletics and involved in my education and have taught me to value both equally. Over the years I have learned that certain lessons are actually better taught on the track, field, or court, such as teamwork and maintaining a positive attitude. However, it is clear that it is important to work diligently both inside and outside of the classroom.
My track journey started when I was invited to join the Hershey Track and Field program by my 3rd grade gym teacher, and since then my success has grown through the help of supportive coaches and teammates. Through my hard work and dedication I have set my high school 100m record, been LJ league champion, set an invitational meet TJ record, won my team's "Iron Woman" challenge every year, and more.
I have high hopes that my track and field dream will become a reality. I feel as though I could make valuable contributions to any team, helping to build their program while I prepare for my future.
