Lauren Breski '19 Recruiting Profile

I was a two-sport athlete until Fall 2017 when I decided to switch from soccer to cross country and focus all my efforts on training to better my track times.  I am very passionate about running and committed to my training, which made it very difficult to play soccer year-round and excel running indoor and outdoor track.  During the Summer of 2018, I am working out with E.T.H.I.C Training and running with my school cross country team to prepare for my senior year.

I consider myself a versatile runner in a wide range of distances; CC, 1600M, 800M, and 400M.  On the soccer field, as a center and outside midfielder, I was the third leading scorer on the high school varsity team as a sophomore, and led my club team in scoring during the Spring 2017 season.

I am fortunate to run at Seneca Valley (SV) High School, which is one of the top schools in western PA.  The talent level of my teammates and opponents is very high and it pushes me every time I am on the trails or track.

Being at the top of my class academically is very important to me.  I take mostly honors and AP courses and am in the National Honor Society.  My academic commitment will help me pursue my aspirations in the nursing field.

I consider my first CC season a successful one, especially since I switched from soccer part way through the season and only had four days of training prior to my first meet.  I qualified for and competed in the WPIAL CC championship meet.

During the winter, I compete in indoor track.  As a junior, our 4x800M team placed 4th at the TSTCA championships and set a new school indoor record.  We have also medaled at the TSTCA championships during my sophomore and freshman years, in the DMR and 4x800M, respectively.

I qualified for the WPIAL outdoor championships in my freshman (4x800M), sophomore (1600M, 4x800M, 4x400M), and junior (1600M, 4x400M) seasons.  I was an alternate on the 4x800M team at the PIAA State Track Championships as a sophomore.
