Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Kayla Merkel and I attend the Hazleton Area Academy of Sciences (Class of 2017). I am a member of the Hazleton Area Track and Field team and compete in all of the throwing events. Javelin is my best event. I love throwing the Javelin and I train year round so that I can continue to grow as an athlete. I will do whatever it takes to compete at the next level. I have always been determined to do everything that I set my mind to, and with the help of my supportive family and coaches, I have been able to do so. Before anything though, my academics are the most important thing to me. I attack my school work just like I attack the Javelin runway. With my perseverance and dedication I know that I will be successful.
