My name is Meghan Niles. I am a 5'9", 120 lb senior at Stone Memorial High School in Crossville, Tn.
My freshman year, I was running a sub-20 5K. However, a week before my first race, I somehow broke my ankle on the stairs at my school. Therefore, I missed my freshman season. When track season came about, I was doing great. I was out of my boot from my ankle and was running fine. At my first track meet, I ran a 6.15 mile and a 2.54 open 800. While I was running my 800, my knee popped and I was placed back in therapy. Now, I am healthy and I am training, as of the last week of May.
I am currently training my private coach in my down time. I am still learning and improving. I am also an extremely competitive athlete and do not like getting beat. I have been the fastest female runner since before I broke my ankle my freshman season. I am always the first to practice, beating the coach there, and the last to leave. I may always be the first girl done, however, I refuse to leave until all my teammates are back to where we started and make sure they all have a way home and are okay.
As far as college, I do not mind which college I attend. I would like to stay in the south, but things change. I would love to be able to run for a great college with a great track and field, or even cross country team.
