I have had a passion for running since competing in my first 5K race at age 5. I have run competitively for USATF since 2012. I hold the 13-14 and 15-16 girls' records in the 1500 M and the 3000 M for Border Association. I've been All American a total of 15 times in XC and track at the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals. I hold the middle school El Paso Independent School District records for 7th grade girls 2400 M, the 8th grade girls 1600 M, and the 2400 M. I have been the first female finisher in multiple 5K and 8K road races, and first finisher overall in two 5K races. I have run four 24 hour races with my longest distance completed being 102.68 miles in 24 hours. Since entering high school, I am undefeated in all of my high school regular season XC and Track meets to date. This past summer, I PRed in both of my track events at the USATF National Junior Olympics, placing 2nd in the 3000 M (10:07.9) and 5th in the 1500 M (4:39.7). In 2018, as a sophomore, I was voted the top XC runner in El Paso by El Paso Times after advancing to States for the second year in a row and remaining undefeated at the El Paso XC meets. I was again named El Paso's XC runner of the year in 2019. I had a wonderful Junior year as I PRed in all of my races. I was first in my region, which is considered "the region of doom" for Texas. At the state meet I ran a PR of 17.12.38 and placed 2nd overall. I then went on to run Nike, Footlocker, and USATF regionals. I qualified for both Nike Nationals and USATF Nationals, and came just short of qualifying for Footlocker Nationals. At both Nike regionals and Footlocker regionals I beat the girl that beat me at States, and beat her again at Nike Nationals. At USATF Nationals, I finished first overall for girls 15-18 and became the USATF XC Junior Olympic National Champion. my junior year track season was cut short was cut short by the Coronavirus pandemic. We had only a few local meets before all competition ended. Despite the abbreviated season, I PRed in both the 1600 and 3200 and I became the first girl in El Paso to break the 5 minute mark in the 1600. I am now gearing up for cross country. I hope that my senior year goes much smoother and I can continue to improve and prepare for college level running. I repeat, running is my passion.
