I fell in love with the sport track my 7th grade and I just wanted to do something for fun and on my own. Then I saw high jump and I was like woah this is kinda cool I want to do this, so my coach told me what to do and I was a natural from the beginning. So I started working harder and harder and that year I jumped 4’8. Then my 8th grade year I drived myself to beat one of my competitors and won district meet of champs jumping 5ft. Entering highschool i was on varsity and we didn’t have a high jump coach so I challenged myself and taught myself. I would spend every day after school working on my form also coaching JV also at this time so everything I did they did also. That year I PR again and jumped 5’2 came 2nd in district and went to area. My sophomore year, I officially got a coach and he has helped me so much, to work really hard to push myself and always challenging myself everyday. Coach Sanchez has been one of my biggest role models in life and always reminds me so just relax and enjoy the sport. My sophomore year I determined to PR again and not did I PR once but I tripled it and beat my school record by jumping 5’6. I went all the way to regionals. One of my biggest characteristics is my dedication, once I have a goal set in my mind I plan to make it or even do better. Another characteristic of mine is my positive attitude, it’s one of my best features and I can honestly say that my attitude is always positive and I am always looking at the brighter side of every situation.
