Hi my name is Jessica Seehafer I am a sophomore at Macon County High School in Tennessee. I started running cross country in seventh grade and I have been running ever since. I guess my junior high years running were ok, but everything changed freshman year of high school. I got cyst's in my right foot I could not even make it a mile without walking. It was terrible i was running high 30s and 40s , I felt like giving up but one day after practice I decided that I didn't care how bad it hurt anymore I was going to over come this somehow. It must have worked because the first race we had I ran a 28:27. From their on out I gave it every thing I had by our fifth race I was running 25s it took me 3 races to break that 25, every time I would break it by a second. So I went to school one morning and seen coach at the four way hallway and I said "coach I am going to break that twenty five today" he just smiled and said well see at the meet this afternoon. Since it was a home meet we were already their, at the time my pr was a 25:09 I was really eager to break it and knew I had to back up what I said to coach. So I did that day I finished with a time of 24:31 broke my 25! In my mind I was like oh yea so excited ,coach just smiled about it though. That was not the end of the season we still had quite a few races left but I ended up the the season with a 23:46.
