Personal Statement
I have been running competitively since I was 10 years old. It was clear to me early on that running was my passion! My ultimate goal is to run track and field on the collegiate level and advanced to become a professional athlete. I am a team leader and always try to lead by example. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working runners on the track. I am interested in a school that will nurture my growth as a track and field athlete and provide an excellent education. I am a member of Dallas Gold Track Club which has allowed me to compete on the national stage in USATF and AAU track events for the past 5 years. In July, 2014 I earned a bronze medal as part of the women’s 4x400 relay team during the USATF Junior Olympics. My relay team won 3rd overall in the nation, running a time of 3:43; my split was 56.1. For the 2014-15 track season, I have already improved my indoor P.R. and my goal is to improve my outdoor stats in all events, ultimately advancing to the State of Texas UIL meet. On a personal note, I would also like to serve as a mentor to girls interested in sports. I believe sports help to build confidence, courage, and exemplify the true definition of hard work. My motto is "pain is temporary but it pays off"!
