My name is Lizette Salazar and i am currently a senior at Silva Health Magnet in El Paso. I have had a passion for running since my "Wellness Wednesday" days back at Clardy Elementary. I loved the rush of adrenaline I got from running and competing with others to see who was a better and faster runner. When i became a 7th grader at Henderson Middle School, I joined the track team and that was the beginning of my track career. I competed in all relays, 400 meter dash and high jump. When i came into high school, i continued in these same events. I was recognized my freshman year at the Willie Williams Invitational Event as the first and only freshman qualifier. My sophomore year, i qualified for the 4x2 and 4x4 at the area meet at Irvin High School. My junior year I decided to take new steps and ran 300 hurdles and attempted pole vault. That same year, i became a regional qualifier at Abilene for pole vault and PR of 9'4. As well as, PR at a district meet at Andress High School for a 400 with a time of 60.03.
I am completely committed to everything I do and give 100 percent effort into it. I am an energetic, focused, positive individual and I always encourage my teammates and fellow students to do the best they can. I am a very sociable and outspoken student and like giving my input in conversations. I am a well-rounded person and open to any challenge set before me. I put in the extra practice that I need to improve my time and form. I will go far beyond what is expect of me to show that I have much to provide to a team.
Thank you for your time and i hope to be hearing from you soon.
